Message from the Artistic Managing Director

Hello there and welcome to the new website of New Curtain Theatre . We are in the process of developing our new web page as you can see, so we ask that you bear with us as we get our new cyber images up and running and providing an array of information that will make you see why NCT and THE OLD SCHOOL-HOUSE is the place to be for arts and culture in our region. Like one of our productions the site will grow and develop over the coming weeks and months to transform itself into a production that you can't resist.,

2018-2019 marked our 13th season as a theatre company here in rural Newfoundland and we have accomplished much in those short years.  We began with the touching story of our own Royal Newfoundland Regiment and the historic battle of July 1st, 1926 during WW1 which we followed up with our community production and dinner theatre of THE LADIES FOURSOME and completed our season with Joan MacLeod's hard hitting piece on mental illness - THE VALLEY.

As anyone knows, making theatre is a miracle at best, but this year has been a year of accomplishments on many levels for us. But the primary achievment is our growing into a new space here at the former Milton School House with on-going renovations. No longer relegated to the outskirts we are now re-located in the heart of the picturesque towns of Milton at the extreme head of  beautiful Smith Sound in Trinity Bay. Also we have added to our offerings at the new building by opening our CURTAIN CALL CATERING that acts as a not for profit venture to assist in the financing of our theatre season. Stay tuned for the opening of our tea room in the near future - a place where you can hang with the cast and crew, meet friends for a casual lunch or organize a business luncheon or office retreat.

Our mandate continues to be "to produce the best in contemporary theatre and modern classics with an emphasis on Canadian works" and I can without a doubt say that each and every production that has graced our stage has been a joy to work on. The talent that we possess here in this little corner of the world is something to be proud of and what keeps me continuing along this winding path. And I hope that it is a journey that you will share with us as an audience somewhere along its route..

Geoff
